Preschool period is a term in which language development is shaped and completed. For this reason, foreign language education at an early age has recently gained importance in our country. It is a known fact that language acquisition at an early age will contribute to the cognitive development of the child. The foreign language learned during the acquisition of the mother tongue not only enables the child to develop target language skills, but also accelerates the acquisition process in the mother tongue.
The key to language development in preschool is the “Idea as a Communication Tool.” In this period when language development in children is intense and flexible, it is our main priority to increase the awareness of communicating through language. In this way, opportunities are provided for children to communicate in a language other than their mother tongue.
Learning through play is one of the most effective teaching methods in the preschool period. Giving foreign language activities with the game method is the most efficient technique of learning the language by living. Permanent learning is provided by giving concepts in a foreign language with the method of play and drama. Correct pronunciation of concepts in a foreign language is supported by music.
In our school, English Language Acquisition is carried out full-time with English Kids Academy Programs. Language activities implemented on the basis of the Game-Based Learning Model are evaluated monthly by English Kids Academy experts, and evaluation reports on the progress of the students are shared with our parents at the end of the semester.
