Kids yoga basically aims to introduce children to yoga, to improve their awareness, to distribute the energy in their bodies in a balanced way with yoga poses and to increase their focus time. For these purposes, regular yoga practice with children increases their body awareness and stretches their bodies correctly and strengthens their muscles. Children’s ability to “stay in the moment”, which they already have, is continued and developed with the practices applied in yoga classes.

In addition, with the yoga activity, the children are relieved psychologically and the poses done in pairs and in groups enable them to establish better social relations with their surroundings. Children’s yoga classes applied in our school; Yoga practice is supported by mindfulness (conscious awareness), mandala, breathing exercises, yoga stories, themes and yoga games and helps to support the mental, physical and cognitive development of children in this age group. In this way, children’s yoga contributes to the development and pre-school education of our children in line with the aims of our school as a fun, educational and didactic activity for our children.
